The Moran Asset Management Group is a fee-based money management practice working under the Wachovia Securities Private Investment Management program. The Principals of The Moran Asset Management Group are investment advisor representatives under Wachovia Securities' investment advisory registration with the SEC.

The Group was founded in March of 1990 by Thomas M. Moran, a Managing Director - Investments, and Earl Sistrunk, CFA, Financial Advisor, with Wachovia Securities.  From the beginning, the group has focused on quantitative analysis and fundamental research in building diversified equity portfolios for their clients.  The Group now consists of twenty three individuals, including five Principles, with a combined experience of over 100 years in the securities industry.  The Group has four Portfolio Managers and is headed by Financial Advisors Thomas Moran, Robert Edwards, Earl Sistrunk and Laura Jones, each of whom is responsible for several of the Group's model portfolios.

The Group currently utilizes over 50 variables from 200 different research firms to arrive with its recommendations.  On three separate occasions, the Group has been named "Number One" by Nelson Information Services.2  The Group currently manages over 2 billion dollars in assets for over 1000 families and institutional clients utilizing 15 different investment models.
